We decided to start doing these monthly reports to share with you our journey. We wanted to do this as a way to be completely transparent about our business. And when I say completely, I mean COMPLETELY transparent. That means sharing with you our income, expenses, and our key learnings like what worked, and what didn't work for us in order to help you in your business. We hope these reports will inspire you to grow or start your own business.

This was my lowest month of income thus far this year. The end of the year is always the toughest time in my Beachbody business. With swimsuit season over and people beginning to look towards the holidays, the last few months are a good reminder to buckle down and keep pushing, keep learning, and keep finding ways to improve your business. This was also month 9 of my pregnancy, so I did a little less than usual in order to focus on the arrival of Emmaline.
Web Site Re-Design
Brian handles most of the design and strategy side of my web site. It had been a while since we did any tweaking to the web site, so we felt like it needed to be cleaned up a bit and simplified. For my business my challenge groups are what I am constantly promoting, so we decided to put an Upcoming Events at the top of the homepage so that everyone who comes to the web site will see what challenge groups are scheduled. We included a short description of the challenge group and a button for people to get more info and sign up. We also included those Upcoming Events in the footer and on the side bar on a few pages, just to keep it in front of people as a remidner or in case they don't land on the home page of the site.
Another area we wanted to focus on was increasing sign ups to our newsletter. We did this by including a home page pop-up because we read somewhere that those get the best conversions. We also included more areas on the site where people have the opportunity to sign up on our email list.
A new addition to the site is the Business Basics page. We wanted this to be an area where we can teach what we are learning to others. We hope that we can help others apply the same learnings to their businesses. The Business Basics tab will consist of business blog posts and monthly reports, at least for the time being.
Facebook has never been much of a focus for us, because Facebook makes it hard to get your posts shown on people's newsfeed. However, Facebook is a very valuable social media platform to have a presence on, so we decided to try running a few ads to see if we could grow our Facebook page. We were pleasently suprised with the results, having grown it by 485 Likes while only spending $50. That averaged out to be about 10 cents per like. Not bad for our first try. Hoping to get that cost per like down next month. In a slow month for Beachbody, this was a great way to reach new people and have Facebook do the work for us.
