We decided to start doing these monthly reports to share with you our journey. We wanted to do this as a way to be completely transparent about our business. And when I say completely, I mean COMPLETELY transparent. That means sharing with you our income, expenses, and our key learnings like what worked, and what didn't work for us in order to help you in your business. We hope these reports will inspire you to grow or start your own business.

Email List - Results still coming
First and foremost, Brian and I welcomed our first child, Emmaline Ruth Foster, on November 11, 2016. She weighed 8 lbs 9 oz and measured 21.5" long, so she was a good sized baby!! As you can imagine, November was a busy month for us because of this, but we are so happy to become a family of three! Now I am even more motivated to get to replace my full-time income with this business so that I can be a stay at home Mom!!
November saw a lot of growth in my business in areas outside of my income. It's important to have things other than your income to measure the progress of your business. These other types of measurements are called Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) because over time these KPIs will most likely translate into sales. This month I saw a significant jump in my Email List and my Facebook Page Likes which I discuss below.
One common way people grow their email lists is through offering a free download in exchange for your email. So I created a 14 Day Fit For His Glory Devotional book and released it at the beginning of the month. Our email list grew by 169 emails so it was great to see such a good response. The offer is presented in a pop-up on the home page, or at the bottom of the home page and on the side bars of the blog pages. An email list is an important resource to have and can really help your business. If you have not started one, I would highly recommend it. It's essentially a list of people who said they are interested in what your are offering, and that is a valuable thing to have. I use Mailchimp and it's free.
We continued our investment into Facebook ads for the FFHG facebook page. Facebook does a great job of helping you target people who might be interested in your page, but it's all depends on how well you know your audience and what their interests are. Facebook allows you to choose particular interests to target, and then then shows your ad to those who have those interests. This month, we gained 1008 new page likes, which basically doubled the number of page likes we had. While we only incurred $38 of expenses, some of that will be billed out in December, so the cost per like is not as good as it looks on paper. Definitely going to continue running these ads in the future!
