Philippians 4:19 says, "God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus."
This is a promise for believers, those that are IN Christ Jesus. We let God protect us by walking in obedience. When we let go and let God, He always provides!
The Lord guides us into healthy living, watering our lives like a garden! Isaiah 58:11 says, "The LORD will guide you continually, watering your life when you are dry and keeping you healthy, too. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring!"
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! Psalms 27:14
Walking with Jesus means you choose the narrow path. It's not the popular path or the easy path, but the MOST rewarding path. It requires patience and obedience, even when the world tells you something else.
There is SO much in this verse that can be applied to our health and fitness journey. The journey to getting healthy requires lots of perseverance and focus, but the Lord is our strength! He will use this time of patience and continuing to give it your all, to make you better on the other side.
Stay strong today even when you feel weak.
You were created in God’s image and He designed you with a purpose. He had a job for you to do here on Earth, to share the Gospel and the Good News with others, and without proper health, we are cutting short the mission He created us for.
Plus, when you invite Christ to reign as Lord of your life, His power dwells within you. Take care of the temple He handcrafted for you, out of respect and appreciation for God’s spirit residing in your body.
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Ephesians 2:18 says, For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
Ephesians 3:12 says, In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
God says you are bold and confident if you are in Christ Jesus! As believers, we are called to live bold and courageous lives. Walk boldly and confidently today, believing and receiving that you are who God says you are! It's time to rise up, shake off fear and be the confident person God believes and calls you to be!
Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her! -Luke 1:45
Mary and Joseph are a beautiful example of what it looks like to trust and obey God. Even when things didn’t make sense and their flesh was afraid, they chose to be obedient. I love the way my Pastor puts it; Part of being kingdom focused is looking ahead to what God has for us!
In Matthew 1:18-25 we see Joseph planning to quietly divorce Mary when he found out she was with child. That evening an angel of the Lord spoke to Joseph in a dream and commanded him to 1) not be afraid 2) take Mary as his wife and 3) to name the child Jesus. When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
My prayer this week is that I would be like Mary and Joseph, looking ahead to what God has in store and walking in obedience. Knowing that His plan is always best, even when it may be difficult to see and understand. I am going to make getting still before God a priority and look for opportunities and ways that He is leading, never taking a step without prayerfully seeking Him. Then I will walk obediently, knowing that it may not make sense when I take that first step but I know that God’s plan is always best.
Whatever you do, do well. [Ecclesiastes 9:10]
Give it all you’ve got today sister and don’t give up. God has given you that dream, task, desire and job for a reason! He will never lead you where He won’t provide. Does that mean it will be easy? Nope! Does that mean it will be free of fear? Nope! Does that mean it will make sense? Nope! Does that mean it could require sacrifice and hard work? Yes!
So whatever you do today, do it well. Give it all you have left and then some.
Be joyful always. [1 Thessalonians 5:16]
Why is it important that we as women of God are joyful? Well 1st of all God commands it in 1 Thessalonians 5:16 when He says, “Be joyful always.” 2nd our joy is for God’s glory. Our goal should be to become a living expression of His joy inside of us! The bible says that joy is a gift to those who belong to Jesus! God gives Joy to His followers, so don’t postpone your Joy! Don’t keep waiting to open the gift.
May the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful. (Psalm 68:3)
Isaiah 43:7 says, "Everyone who is called by My name, And whom I have created for My glory, Whom I have formed, even whom I have made."
You were created for God's glory! Want to know your purpose? Boom! There it is, right there! Being used for God's glory isn't something that just the "best" Christians get to experience. (There is absolutely no such thing!) No matter your background or past sin, God wants to use you for His glory! You are NOT damaged goods! Your worth does not come from what others say about you! All that God ask is childlike faith and obedience. That means true repentance and being obedient to follow His calling when He leads.
She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. Proverbs 32:15
May we be energetic and strong like the Proverbs 31 woman. This can be your physical strength (working out, health), mental strength (being there for others when they need help) and spiritual strength (asking God for guidance and praying). We are called to do these things with optimism and energy!
God, that's my prayer today. That you would make me strong and energetic like the Proverbs 31 woman. That I would have physical, spiritual and mental strength. Placing high value on Godliness which is of great value. Make me more like you every day Jesus and give me the boldness to step out in obedience.
My prayer is that God uses these short devotionals to encourage and challenge you.
