What if instead of looking at fitness as a burden, we looked at it as a tool to be used by God?
As a believer our goal in fitness should be focused on being equipped and ready for whatever and wherever God might call us. I never want my own physical fitness to hold me back from having the energy to pour into my family, church or this ministry! We have to be fit to fight ladies, ready for wherever and however He calls us!
If you're with me this morning and ready to commit your fitness journey over to Jesus, type I'M COMMITTED in the comments below! Let's cheer each other on as we pursue fitness His way!
"We love because He first loved us." - 1 John 4:19
I never imagined or fully understood how a parent loves their child until about two weeks ago when I became a mom myself. This little piece of you enters the world and your responsible for caring for them, loving them and pointing them to Jesus in all you do. It's an unconditional love and nothing she could do would ever make me stop loving her.
As I think about my deep love for my daughter, I am reminded of God's unending love for me. His love isn't based on a set of rules but His desire for a relationship with me. Our acceptance by God is not based on our performance but on Jesus performance on the cross.
As a response to God's unconditional love for us, let's love like Him! Listen to others hearts, fears, dreams and concerns. Encourage and inspire them in everything you do!
Let's love out of an overflow of God's strong love for us this week ladies! Who's in?!
Colossians 3:22-24 says, "Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for The Lord. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for The Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from The Lord as a reward. It is The Lord Christ you are serving."
How would our workouts change if we started looking for the ways God was refining us in them and for lessons he may be teaching us through them?
What a great reminder as we head into our Fri-YAY and prepare to kick off the weekend. We are defined by Christ alone! Lord, we desire to live for your glory. Help our focus to be on you in every thing that we do!
Remind a friend of this truth!
For in him we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:28A)
If you look up the definition of the word move it is to go in a specified direction or manner; change position. Some other words that are similar to move are to go, walk, proceed, progress, or advance.
Knowing the defintion of the word move completely changes the context of this verse. It's in HIM alone that we walk, progress and advance. God is not far from us! He intended that we would seek Him and reach out to Him for strength to get through everything that comes our way.
Notice though that He did say move! In order to move and honor the callings + task God gives us, we have to be willing to move and press into Him. That's why being healthy physically and mentally is so important! This allows us to have the physical and mental capacity to press into Him and seek out His strength. Remember- he never promised it would be easy but it will be worth it!
My prayer is that God uses these short devotionals to encourage and challenge you.
