“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Matthew 7:24
The foundation of a home tells you how big the house you are building can be. You can't build a big beautiful home on a small or messed up foundation. Why? Because it would collapse every time.
Same thing goes for our lives. We will never become what God wants us to become with our lives built on a faulty foundation. There are many options out there: the culture, tradition, reason and emotions, but those will NEVER work. Our lives must be built on the truth that never changes, the word of God.
So my question for you is what is keeping you from building your life and foundation on the word of God, the Bible?
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." -Galatians 6:9
In an instant society, Paul's charge in Galatians 6:9 is especially important: Let us not lose heart and grow weary in doing right, for in due time, at the appointed season, we shall reap, if we do not lose our courage, grow weary, and give up.
“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” -Proverbs 31:30
God makes it clear that exercise does not compare to the inward beauty of a woman who fears the Lord. I believe we should approach exercise knowing that our beauty is fading and that ultimately our pursuit should be about God’s glory, not our own. So why do we pursue exercise? So we will have more energy, focus and strength in order to serve God and others in greater ways! Realizing that honoring God with our bodies is a means of giving worship and glory to God!
Why is it important that we as women of God are joyful? Well 1st of all God commands it in 1 Thessalonians 5:16 when He says, “Be joyful always.” 2nd our joy is for God’s glory. Our goal should be to become a living expression of His joy inside of us!
The bible says that joy is a gift to those who belong to Jesus! God gives Joy to His followers, so don’t postpone your Joy! Don’t keep waiting to open the gift.
May the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful. (Psalm 68:3)
“If Jesus gives us a task or assigns us to a difficult season, every ounce of our experience is meant for our instruction and completion if only we'll let Him finish the work. I fear, however, that we are so attention-deficit that we settle for bearable when beauty is just around the corner.” –Beth Moore
Trials and temptations will inevitably come, but if we lean into Jesus we will be more like Him on the other side. The key is to prepare for the trials and temptations before they come, spending time in His word and on our faces in prayer!
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” –John 14:6
Everyone is looking for a way; everyone’s looking for the truth and everyone is looking to live an exciting life. I am so thankful that my hope is in Christ Jesus who is the way, the truth and the life! Nothing and no one can compare to the hope you can have when you are apart of the family of God!
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” – Psalm 139:14
God made you beautiful just the way that you are! Working out and eating healthy will simply make you healthier, but God already made you beautiful! God didn't create everyone to be a size 2 or 4, so we have got to quit comparing ourselves and focus on being the healthiest version of the beautiful woman God created us to be. It's a constant struggle, but the more you lean into God the more you will start to see yourself through his lens. Beautiful, strong, capable and deeply loved.
So why do we workout? To be a good steward of the one body God gave us.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. [Isaiah 40:31]
Real talk. I hate running! I will cheer my running friends on all day long, because I think they are amazingly tough. I just personally hate running. Do I do it sometimes? Yes, but even then I only do sprints. Needless to say it makes me love Isaiah 40:31 even MORE. Those who have their hope in the Lord will run the race of life and not grow weary! Why? Because He is our strength and shield if you are in Christ Jesus! Hallelujah! Anyone else need to be reminded of the strength we have we have in Christ Jesus this morning?
When we fail to prepare, we prepare to fail. In Genesis 25: 29-34 we see Esau give up his birthright for a cup of soup. All for a moment of physical satisfaction. He sacrificed what was good in the long term for what felt good in the short term. Be on guard sisters! Satan is out and about with devised schemes to lure you away from your commitments. Be women IN and OF the Word. Prepare for the battle and be on guard!

Matthew 6:34, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
