Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12 NLT
Jesus faced constant demands, opposition and rarely had time alone. He still never let any of that define Him.
As believers, we can know we belong to God and that God defines who we are and what we are meant to do on this Earth. Trying to be someone God never intended you to be causes stress and will never leave you satisfied!
Don't let the world tell you who you are. Your worth and identity is found in Christ alone.
Every day is a chance to become better! To wake up and say yes! To overcome temptation by pressing into God. He never gives us more then we can bear. Do you believe that? Today is a chance to finish stronger then you started. Who's in?
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
"The one thing I can do to guarantee failure is to walk off the field before the whistle blows." - Michael Hyatt
Whatever you have set out to achieve, throwing in the towel and giving up will only guarantee failure. Thomas Edison tried creating the light bulb ten thousand ways before getting it right. Right before he finally figured it out he said, I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
Galatians 6:9 says, And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Don't give up. God's got you and although it may be frustrating and exhausting at times, God's got you.
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
If I'm being honest, I have a tendency to take fears/anxious thoughts and turn them into something outside of the here and now. The problem is that God isn't in that thought because it's not even reality!
Isaiah 26:3 says He will keep us in perfect peace when our thoughts are fixed on Jesus.
That's my prayer. That my thoughts would be so fixed on Jesus that the fears are drowned out by His perfect peace.
Christ Jesus never stops loving us! No matter how far we run, how big of a hole we dig or how lost we are He continues to pursue us! If we are in Him we have already won the battle. He makes His victory ours!
Romans 16:20 says "He will crush Satan under His feet!" All evil dominion will come to an end on the day our Savior returns! Joy and triumph will be ours. Cling to Him sisters. Life is hard, but the victory is ours if we are in Christ Jesus and he NEVER stops fighting for you! Be strong and of good courage today!
Ladies- if you are in Christ you have already won the battle! We sit right beside God in heavenly places, because we are victorious in Christ Jesus! Jesus sealed the deal for us as believers when he took on the cross and was resurrected three days later.
Because of that the enemy has been:
-disarmed and embarrassed - Colossians 2:15
-overruled - Ephesians 1:20-22
-mastered - Philippians 2:9-11
-rendered powerless - Hebrews 2:14
-and all his hard work destroyed! - 1 John 3:8
Boom! I don't know about you but that's a great reminder that the enemy and his schemes are not going to get me down! I am praying for the eyes to see where he is trying to work and that in the name of Jesus- he would leave me alone! I am praying the same over you sisters! Remember he knows how to lure us with shiney things. We have got to be on guard to his schemes. We need to bolt up every day by getting in God's word and being women of prayer! #ArmorOfGodStudy
To seek is to attempt or desire to obtain or achieve. Seeking the Lord and his strength is active! It requires us asking for or attempting to find. Are you seeking the Lord and his strength? Are you seeking him continually? Not just when life gets rough and you need him. What about when things are good?
Isaiah 43:7 says, "Everyone who is called by My name, And whom I have created for My glory, Whom I have formed, even whom I have made." You were created for God's glory! Want to know your purpose? Boom! There it is, right there!
Being used for God's glory isn't something that just the "best" Christians get to experience. (There is absolutely no such thing!) No matter your background or past sin, God wants to use you for His glory! You are NOT damaged goods! Your worth does not come from what others say about you! All that God ask is childlike faith and obedience. That means true repentance and being obedient to follow His calling when He leads.
You are not cheap!
In fact, you're so valuable before the King of glory that Christ died on the cross in your place.
My prayer is that God uses these short devotionals to encourage and challenge you.
