I I can not believe that I am already almost 15 weeks into my pregnancy. Only 5 more weeks until we find out if Baby Foster is a boy or a girl! Time is flying by and I am doing everything possible to savor every second. Growing a baby is a very humbling experience and I am so thankful to the Lord for the opportunity. For the first time ever eating healthy and working out are not just about me, but it's also about the health of my sweet baby. Some women use pregnancy as an excuse to eat whatever they want and be lazy. For me it's a whole new motivator to truly honor my body and baby by making my health a priority.
Many fellow moms-to-be have asked me about my "go to" pregnancy supplements and routines. So I thought I would share exactly what I have been doing thus far to make sure my body and baby get the best nutrients and care.

1. Garden Life Raw Prenatal
I chose the Garden Life Raw Prenatal because it is plant based and doesn't contain any additives or fillers. It is specially designed to provide immune support for BOTH mom and baby not only during pregnancy, but after birth as well. It also helps with healthy digestion and elimination with Probiotics, Ginger, Vitamin D, and Zinc. When you're pregnant your digestive systems tends to run much slower, thankfully this vitamin has really helped keep things moving.

3. My Workout Routine
Sticking with my daily workouts has been a game changer! On days when I would miss my workouts (especially the first few weeks of my pregnancy) I was exhausted. Physically, mentally.. I couldn't even focus. Now, I am not saying my workouts were the cure all, BUT they have helped a ton! On Mondays and Wednesday I have been lifting weights either with the old school beachbody program Body Pump or the Masters Hammer and Chisel. One important thing to remember is that while lifting weights while pregnant is good for your muscle tone, it is important to be sure you are not lifting too heavy. When we lift too heavy, we can risk cutting off oxygen flow to the baby. On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday's I have been sticking with short, yet effective workouts. My go to workouts been T-25 and PiYo. T-25 is only 25 minutes but leaves you sweating like you just worked out for 45. It's a very effective workout with great modifiers! PiYo has been my go to on days when my body needs some extra love. Think pilates meets yoga. This workout will feel like your body just got a massage mixed with a great workout afterwards.

4. Waiting in Wonder
Waiting in Wonder: Growing in Faith While You are Expecting has been such a gift for me and my husband during this sweet season! Catherine Larson did an incredible job when she wrote this journal/devotional book. This book walks through daily devotions designed to encourage, strengthen, and inspire. Each devotion includes Scripture and journaling space for writing personal thoughts, prayers, dreams, even love letters to the growing baby. I hope you find this list of things I have been using in my pregnancy routine helpful. Thankfully I have not experienced any crazy nausea or low energy, besides being very tired until 7 weeks. I honestly think that the combination of staying on top of my workouts, eating health and fueling my body with good supplements has really helped me.
