One year ago I took on a title that changed my life forever- MOM. The truth is it's a MUCH MUCH bigger task then anyone could ever even dream up. I have a TON of respect for mom's now that I have become one. Before I became a mom I THOUGHT I knew how hard it was but I knew nothing. Let's be clear- babysitting and being a mom are MUCH different. Not trying to down play the role and hard work of a babysitter but being a mom never ends. You don't just leave your child and go do your thing. In fact even when you're away from your child you're thinking about them the WHOLE time. They are apart of you and you're apart of them.
Here's a few things I discovered over the past year...
If you're a mother can I just tell you that YOU ARE STRONG, WORTHY AND ENOUGH. God loves you more then you could ever imagine and you are doing KINGDOM work! Those kiddos think you are the best thing ever and no matter how many times you fall and have to pick yourself back up, they will love you the same just like Jesus. Keep pursuing Him, keep being bold and obedient and never question for a SECOND that God hasn't equipped you with everything you need to shepherd those little ones well.

It's time to stop compartmentalizing your life and SURRENDER every area, including your health and fitness journey. This doesn't happen over night. This is a daily surrender and it starts with allowing God's word to pour in and over your soul.
Last month I had the opportunity of attending the She Works His Way Narrow Conference in Asheville, NC (If you are a woman in business you should be following @sheworkshisway). One thing they provided us with was a page of prayer prompts to pray each morning over our business'. Since then I have used this time and time again and then it came to me- women need something like this for their health and fitness journey! Something they can get on their knees and CLAIM in their health and fitness! That's how this prayer prompt was born.
My prayer is that the Lord uses this simple tool to draw you closer to Him and maybe for the first time ever you truly and fully SURRENDER it over to Him!

If you've been following me for some time you have probably seen me post about the Healthy Holiday's Community me and my team recently launched in October. The response has been incredible! in fact last month we had 333 people in the free week long group.
As a busy, working mom I find have found dinner time EXTREMELY stressful. Anyone else relate? I really struggle with planning healthy dinners for my family each week. I pin tons of recipes because they look yummy + healthy, but then I never make them because the ingredient list is a mile long. I mean what working mom or mom in general has time for that?
On top of that obstacle I have also struggled with knowing what to cook so that Emmaline can eat what we're eating each night. Ever since she stopped eating puréed food meal prepping for her has been non existent. I know I should be making healthy meals that include food she can eat but I'm a creature of habit and recipes sometimes scare me.
Can anyone else relate?
I know there are a LOT of you out there feeling the same way. One of the number one things I hear from mamas is that they have to make themselves something separate at dinner time because their kids won't eat healthy.
I've decided enough is enough. Going into November and December I have a brand new community group that I believe will be a GAME CHANGER in your families health through the holidays!
I have hired a Registered Dietitian, Cassie Brown, to provide us with healthy, family friendly, easy-to-prepare weekly recipes PLUS a grocery list to go with them. I just KNOW this added resources is going to help TONS of families this holiday season. On top of that we also have a BRAND NEW family friendly workout program that gets the kids involved in your workout. This will really help you as a parent set your kiddos up for success! They will be learning healthy habits from a very young age!

The truth is this generation is becoming less and less active and becoming more and more SICK! 1/5 kids are obese, foods marketed to/for kids are overly processed and sugar laden, leading to all kinds of horrible physical and behavioral challenges and childhood health diseases.
We have to make a change! We have to take control! Let’s do it TOGETHER!!

The number one thing I hear from women is that eating healthy is too expensive. Well, I am here to bust that myth because honestly it's just not true! What I have personally found is that the people who often say this to me eat 4-5 meals (on average) out a week. Let me just say THAT is the problem, not the healthy eating.
About a year ago my husband and I made a pack to stick to our Mint budget once and for all! Not only is it better on our wallet, it's also better for our bodies. We set a goal to only eat one meal a week out for lunch and one dinner a week out as a family. Is it easy? Not always BUT it's awesome seeing how much money we are saving and how much better our bodies feel.
I thought I would take a second today and share with you our grocery list and how I personally go about planning out our meals + shopping each month and week. At the beginning of every month I go to Sam's club to purchase all of our meats for the month. This makes it really easy because then I am able to freeze them and as we need them we thaw them out. It's also MUCH cheaper then having to get meat each week at the store.
I love shopping at Aldi's for as much as I can and then swinging by Kroger (grocery chain) afterwards for formula and anything Aldi's didn't have that week. Shopping at Aldi's REALLY saves my family money and I really like that they have a high standard for food. Fun fact- Aldi's is actually the sister store (same owners) to Trader Joes. :)

On average we spend $50-70 a week at Aldi and then Kroger ($100-$140 total a week) plus $150 a month at Sam's Club.
